Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The training requirements for companies are different than they are for people. This “FAQ” is for individuals. Click here if you need information about company training.

 Q. How much does it (a forklift certification) cost?

A. The forklift training for individuals is $90.00 per person. This sounds like a lot but the training is good for three years and the certification can be used when applying for any “forklift driver” job.

Q. Can I find it cheaper?

A.  Sure you can, but be careful, because this is an “if it looks too good to be true, it probably is” world. There are several Forklift Certification Scams that you should watch for. Here is what a fake forklift ad might look like ( posted this one. you might recognize it). Promises of “guaranteed jobs” are usually just a ploy that is designed to get you to call. Another warning sign would be that they are significantly cheaper ($10-$20) than other companies. There are exceptions, but they are rare. Do your research (on sites like Better Business Bureau and Ripoff Report) to see if anyone has complained about scams run by the company.

Q.  How long does it take?

A. The forklift classes usually last about 3.0 hours but someone who has never driven a forklift will obviously need more training than someone with years of experience. Our Trainer works one-on-one with each person to make certain that they are confident, competent and comfortable on a forklift. This, more than anything else, is what sets us apart from the competition.

Q. Is this OSHA?

A. The short answer is “no” because OSHA does not certify forklift operators. Anyone claiming they do is simply not being honest. How do I know? This was one of the topics covered during The OSHA Education Center’s “Authorized Trainer” course (view certificate).

Q. Can you guarantee me a job?

A. We urge you to read this forklift scam alert because nobody, other than an employer, can guarantee you a job. We can teach you how to drive a forklift and we can provide you with some very good job leads. The rest, as they say, is up to you.
